A typical bedroom

I found her to be neat and well cared for (usually with a cup of tea!) and her room was kept tidy and orderly. Obviously these are standards any home should aspire to, but at Read House they were consistently achieved. The staff appear to be happy in their work, so all credit to you for managing it so successfully for residents and staff alike.

Fresias in the room

A ground floor room overlooking the Greensward and sea

Read House comprises 37 en-suite rooms, the majority of which are single. There are three twin-bedded rooms, with two rooms reserved for short-stay residents.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their room by bringing in small items of furniture, pictures, photos and other mementoes.
Call facilities throughout the home ensure prompt attention. Local GPs visit the home regularly and we also offer chiropody, dental treatment, optical care and hairdressing by visiting professionals.
Special diets are catered for by our professional chef and throughout the home, specialist Parker baths and a walk-in shower exist for residents with limited mobility.
Individual Care
Read House has established a reputation for high standards and individual care. Our staff, most of whom have been with us for many years, are fully experienced in caring for senior citizens with visual impairment or those needing support in later life.
